The Condor Rugged SPARCstation is a ruggedised system that integrates the Sun UltraSPARC Processor. The Condor is designed for shipboard, airborne, ground mobile and rapid deployment applications.
The Condor portable SPARCstation integrates the Sun Ultra 2 SPARCengine? which is available with a single or dual 200 MHz, 250 MHz or 300 MHz processor. The Condor is available in a portable or rack mount configuration.
The Condor portable SPARCstation offers a wide choice of hard disk drives and peripheral options. The Condor supports up to four peripheral bays which can accommodate up to four 3.5" removable hard disk drives, (up to 18GB each with a total of 72GB), or any combination of peripheral devices such as CD ROM, 4mm DAT, 8mm Exabyte, MO drive, JAZ drive, or DVD drive. The Condor comes standard with a 3.5" 1.44MB floppy disk drive and PCMCIA drive that can support two type II or one type III PCMCIA cards. All peripherals and PCMCIA slots are accessible from the front. The Condor portable SPARCstation has an ergonomic, user friendly, moisture proof, Sun type keyboard available in a rack mount tray assembly that easily slides in and out. The Condor keyboard provides various options of integrated pointing devices (trackball, mouse, etc) and is equipped with an ergonomic palm rest. An optional back-lit keyboard is also available.
The Condor portable SPARCstation is designed for survivability and to provide years of reliable operation in real world, harsh environments. The RPS Condor meets temperature, humidity, dust and shock requirements of MIL-STD-810E and FCC Class A and optional MIL-STD-461.
