Scaling up to 12 UltraSPARC IV processors with chip multithreading technology executing 24 simultaneous computing threads, this high-performance, rack-optimized server is ideal for a wide range of compute-intensive applications.
The SunFire E2900 server protects investments with the ability to mix and manage UltraSPARC IV and UltraSPARC III processors--running at their rated speeds--in the same system, and offers advanced features such as Dynamic Reconfiguration for hot swapping processor/memory boards while applications are up and running, for higher availability.
The Sun Fire E2900 is the UltraSPARC IV version of the Sun Fire V1280 server.
