Sun Enterprise 250 Server Support Expertise

Independent Sun Enterprise 250 Server Support Expertise

Sun Enterprise 250Sun Enterprise 250 is a workgroup server that occupies the midrange space between the Enterprise 5 and 10 systems and the Enterprise 450 workgroup server. With a Sun Enterprise 250 workgroup server, you get increased scalability and uptime, as well as remote management capabilities because of the system architecture which scales to two 300-MHz or 400-MHz processors, abundant RAS features such as hot-swap redundant power, hot swap disks, and Sun Remote System Control, allowing the server to monitor itself and report problems back to the system administrator.

The Enterprise 250 has a unique Remote System Control (RSC) module which provides the following features:

  • Event notification via e-mail or pager of hardware/software failures
  • Internal environmental monitoring via a remote link
  • Remote system power on/off
  • Remote viewing of boot logs

Up to four E250 systems can be rack-mounted in the 56" and 68" cabinets. Five E250 systems can be installed in the StoreEdge 72" cabinet. E250 systems can be mounted in third-party cabinets and each require 6Us or 10.5 inches of vertical space.
